One of the most effective ways to introduce youth to our sportsman heritage is to involve them in an actual hunt. Because of age restrictions, and short hunting seasons in the middle of the school year, this is often a difficult task to undertake. For these reasons, pigeon hunting is the perfect activity to get your children familiar with hunting. The season is year-round, they can be hunted with inexpensive shotgun loads, with 20 ga. shotguns, and the shooting opportunities are unlimited. Pigeon hunting provides great training for shooting, dog training work, and if nothing else, pigeon hunting is an absolute blast!
